Having begun riding bikes back in 1976, motorcycles would become a major love of my life. That first bike way back when was a 1970, 650 BSA that was purchased for $250 because the clutch was out! It became good trading material for a 1957 Triumph thunderbird chopper….Now we were talkin! Bout wore that little dude out ridin it so much! More bikes would come and go many metrics and a sweet lookin Harley Sportster, which would get chopped, raked, painted etc. just because of boredom. Finances went south and I would sell all the bikes over time. Then August 2005 the 30th day in fact, I would find myself on the floor unable to move at 6:45 in the am. I had suffered a major stroke, resulting from a blood clot to the brain! I was told, as was my family, that I would not make it thru the day...was expected to die at any moment! |
I couldn't talk, couldn't walk, had no use of my left arm or hand, couldn't even drink water thru a straw without nearly choking to death! Thousands of prayers and a lot of determination later, I began learning how to do EVERYTHING all over again! Seven months later, I can walk with out a cane, albeit I do limp pretty bad. Talk fairly normally, can do almost everything I could do before, except play guitar and drums. And I am once again doing my true passion…..riding my new scoot!

I still have very limited use of my left hand and arm, making clutching a real challenge! Some days I don't ride because the physical side effects of the stroke won't permit me too, obviously I have bad and good days... the good days find me in the wind! Positive proof that if you want something bad enough nothing will stop you! A Fantastic doctor, support system, loving family, caring bros and sisters, and a healing God all had their part! |
Become A Featured Biker
If you want to be a Featured Biker, just send us a few decent pix of yourself in
the wind, on your scoot or doing the biker thing and write something about yourself, your
lifestyle, your travels, your thoughts on being a biker, whatever. Only rule is you actually got to be a biker, not some candy ass trailer queen riden wannabe that decided two weeks ago you wanted to be just like the boys at OCC or one of those guys who has had a scooter for 3 years and has put a whopping 3,000 miles on it. If you look like a biker, act like a biker, smell like a biker and ride like a biker, we will use
it. Include your mailing address, and if we use your submission we will send you some cheap ass gift that most likely will promote BikerCrap. Now how is that for a deal?
Send your pix and bio/story to featured_biker@bikercrap.com
